Viva Las Vegas! My husband and I were able to get away for 4 days in October and thought Vegas was the perfect choice. It’s super close; only a 4 hour plane ride from Toronto, warmer weather and… it was my husbands birthday; he’s never been! So, I’m honored to have taken his Vegas virginity.
We wanted to keep the tradition going as we’ve been away for my husbands birthday 3 years in a row. We were able to score a really good deal and we also used our Visa travel points. After using our points the trip cost us just under $500, not bad.
In case your looking to travel to Vegas single or boo’ed up, (they will be completely different trips, btw) here is what happened in Las Vegas.
FYI: A big part of Vegas are the day pool parties. We didn’t get the chance to do this because the weather wasn’t the best so these parties weren’t happening, but this is a must do!
Relax and Unwind
We stayed at the Luxor, (the pyramid). This wouldn’t be my first choice but as I said we got a good deal. The hotel is at the beginning of the strip but you don’t notice how far it is because there’s so much to see and do on your walk. The lobby is all marble and gold like many Vegas hotels. The rooms aren’t anything fancy but they’re clean and beds are comfy.
While in Vegas we made sure to check out all the hotels, some have amazing architecture and are really beautiful.
We visited The Venetian for dinner and a nightclub called Tao. They also have an indoor Gondola, like in Italy. You can take a Gondola ride throughout the hotel.
Bellagio is a must see for the famous Fountains. They put on a 5 minute fountain show throughout the day.
Ceasers has an amazing pool, everything is so grande and luxe. We were able to enjoy that on one of the warmer days, but still wasn’t warm enough for a bikini. (hence my fully covered up outfit below)
Vegas wouldn’t be complete without a show by the beloved Michael Jackson. We caught the MJ Live show, it’s a 1 hour singing and dancing performance by an impersonator at the Stratosphere. You really do feel like you’re watching the real MJ, he dances and sounds just like him!
Our last night we had to check out the party scene. We went to Tao Nightclub inside The Venetian. They had a special guest appearance by DJ Mustard. He’s a popular hip hop producer, famous for a lot of your favorite hip hop songs, like Migos and 2 Chainz. (only pic we got was us outside waiting in the longest line of life!)
Another fun and popular thing to do in Vegas is the gun range. My husband was really excited for The Gun Store. They provide packages to shoot real loaded guns with training and accompanied supervision. They also provide free shuttles to and from your hotel.
The only food that was on our minds were Shake Shack and In-N-Out, that’s all. This is foreign to Canada so we were very excited to try it! Shake Shack is on the more pricey side, $30 USD for 2 combos. In-N-Out was cheaper, $15 USD for 2 combos. Shake Shack has AMAZING milkshakes and better fries but I think I would choose In-N-Out just for their simplicity.
Our tickets to the MJ Live was packaged with dinner at Top of The world inside the Stratosphere, on the 140th Floor, overlooking the entire Las Vegas strip. We had the best steak of our lives here, my hubby was in heaven.
There’s so much to do in Vegas whether you go there single, married or dating. There is always something to do, it’s impossible to be bored. If you’ve never been and are planning a trip to Sin City, I hope this guide helps you along the way! xo.
